Andhra Cabinet Approves New Industrial Policy, CM Releases Welfare Calendar

The new industrial policy of the state has been designed keeping in mind the investments pouring in into the state after the recent APGIS

All set to execute the MoUs that were signed during the Andhra Pradesh Global Investors Summit, the AP cabinet recently approved the state’s industrial development policy 2023-27 and proposals in the Andhra Pradesh Inland Waterways Bill-2023. The Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy also released the state’s welfare calendar for 2023-24 on Friday. 

The state assembly on Friday passed the AP Appropriation Bill, 2023 by voice vote enabling the State government to spend Rs 2.79 lakh crore in the financial year 2023-24 beginning from 1 April, 2023.

The CM Jagan Mohan Reddy also released the calendar of the welfare programmes for the financial year 2023-24. “Every assurance given to the people will be kept with the timely release of funds for the welfare programmes, which are being implemented and will be implemented as mentioned in the calendar issued at the end of the budget session,” he stated.

The Cabinet gave its nod to allot 29.67 acres required for the construction of a pipeline for water supply to the YSR Steel Corporation, apart from proposals to allocate 78.46 acres of land for the construction of a four-lane road.

Following the guidelines from the Union government, the cabinet also gave approval for amendment of Waqf Rules. The Cabinet also approved the proposed AP gram secretariat, ward secretariats-2023 bill to replace the 2022 ordinance. It gave its approval for the establishment of the AP agriculture, horticulture and veterinary science college in Pulivendula as also proposals for the milk procurement (protection of farmers) and enforcement of safety of milk standards bill-2023, as also the AP media accreditation rule - 2019.
