There is an exclusive culinary exchange taking place with two celebrated chefs from Italy visiting the capital showcasing their prized skills at The Imperial. Meanwhile the head chefs at the five-star hotel are gearing to go to Italy later this year to present our special cuisine. What binds the two cultures is of course the love for good food and the kaleidoscope of flavours that each represents. History is known to have played its part in fostering the familiarity; after all it is believed, the great explorer Marco Polo carried to Venice flavours he encountered in India.

According to chef Fabrizio from Florence, “Like India, our food differs every few miles but we are just as fond of the right herbs and spices. Only difference is that our focus is more on fresh ingredients, otherwise the cooking process is simpler.”

Executive Chef Attilio Di Fabrizio and Executive Chef Roberto Gatto from Belmond Villa San Michele, Florence and Belmond Hotel Cipriani are all set to combine their knowledge with passion to recreate the experience of dining at the world-renowned restaurants in Florence and Venice, at San Gimignano, in the two week festival ending on 11th February 2018.

The impressive menu shall feature some typical offerings of the two regions- Venice and Florence. To name a few- Fiesole style potato dumplings with fresh tomato and basil and Risotto Con Aspargi Bianchi (White asparagus risotto), apart from others.

Vijay Wanchoo, Sr. Executive VP and General Manager said “We have partnered with Belmond Hotels, Italy to elevate the authentic and award-winning Tuscan dining experience at San Gimignano at The Imperial. The Chefs will present their craft in the form of a four-course meal accompanied by an exclusive selection of wines.” This festival has been created keeping in mind discerning patrons with a penchant for Italian food.

For years The Imperial has set the precedent for gastronomic journeys.  This one is yet another endeavour to offer an international experience sitting right in the capital.
