Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has no competition in next year's Lok Sabha elections and the people of India wholeheartedly support Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Shah said in an exclusive interview with ANI that the country has marked a positive growth in the people's lives at the grassroots level due to initiatives of the Centre. The BJP will perform well in poll-bound states this year including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Chhattisgarh.

Taking a jibe at Congress and Rahul Gandhi, Shah said that Rahul may not have campaigned in poll-bound states but poll results in Nagaland, Meghalaya and Tripura will prove the strength of the opposition party in states it once dominated.

He added that the country has made progress across all sections and called the country as the fastest-growing major economy. He also highlighted the Centre's steps taken to boost internal security and in reducing the dependence on imports in the defence sector. Making the economy as fastest growing economy and secure in the world are among the priorities of the government.

He said that India is receiving recognition globally for its achievements.

He added that the government has worked to improve the living standard of 60 crore poor people and was successful in doing that. There are big changes in the railway sector. "We are moving forward in the drone sector with the new policy. Successful attempts have been done to make India a manufacturing hub," said Shah in the ANI interview.

India has recorded a 30 per cent reduction in reliance on other countries in defence sector, he said.
