As Amazon scales and expands its delivery network across the country, it continues to create opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs through its ‘Delivery Service Partner’ (DSP) program. With this last mile delivery program, Amazon India partners with Small and Mid-sized Businesses (SMBs) to deliver packages to Amazon customers.

These small business owners are supported by the backing of Amazon’s more than 20 years of operational experience, best-in-class technology, and a suite of exclusively negotiated services and assets required to deliver Amazon packages safely and successfully. With this offering, new entrepreneurs have started businesses with low start-up costs and low working capital that is helping them operate their business seamlessly.

Manvi Dhawan, a 44-year-old Noida-based entrepreneur and an Amazon Delivery Partner, is one such example. A working professional until 2013, she decided to take a sabbatical to take care of her daughters. In 2020, she decided to relaunch her career, but this time she wanted to pursue entrepreneurship.

While exploring opportunities, Manvi came across Amazon’s Delivery Service Partner program. Backed with her rich experience in operations, she approached Amazon and applied to become a DSP, and started Saima Enterprises in January 2021 with one delivery station in Panchkula. Within a span of 15 months, Manvi is now managing eight delivery stations, providing meaningful work opportunities to hundreds of delivery associates.

“For me, financial independence is of utmost priority and hence I decided to relaunch my career after 7 years of sabbatical but this time I decided to be my own boss. I took a leap of faith and became an Amazon Delivery Service Partner. From receiving various trainings to opportunities at every stage, my growth over the last 15 months would not have been possible without Amazon’s support,” says Manvi.

Manvi aims to expand her business across different geographical locations and positively impact more lives over the next few years. She also wants her business to serve as an opportunity for women to build their career in the logistics sector.

Karuna Shankar Pande, Director - Last Mile Operations, Amazon India says, “We are proud of the hundreds of small and mid-sized business owners like Manvi growing exponentially and benefiting from Amazon’s Delivery Service Partner program. These new entrepreneurs not only build a strong foundation for their entrepreneurial journey, but also create additional job opportunities for hundreds and thousands of associates. Since the DSP program first launched in India, it has not only helped Amazon provide growth avenues to SMBs but also enabled it to reach into the hinterlands of the country.”

In 2021, Amazon launched the next evolution of the Delivery Service Partner (DSP) program in India that enables aspiring entrepreneurs, even with little to no delivery experience, to develop and launch their own delivery businesses. The program now has more than 300 entrepreneurs in India, managing more than 1,500 Delivery Service Partner Stations across 750 cities and towns creating jobs for tens of thousands of locals.
