Amazon India announces to shut down its online learning platform for high-school students in the country starting from August 2023. The Amazon Academy platform was launched in January last year to help students prepare for the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination).

According to the reports, it will refund the full fee to the enrolled students in the current academic session.

Amazon Academy was launched amid a boom in virtual learning during the coronavirus pandemic and offered to coach for comprehensive exams such as JEE, which allows entry into engineering colleges across India.

It also collaborated with Sri Chaitanya an education group to introduce full syllabus courses for the joint entrance exam (JEE) and National Eligibility-cum-Entrance-Test (NEET) aspirants.  The reason for the closure is considered as the reopening of schools and coaching centres after the lockdown.
