Bharti Airtel on Tuesday said it has secured mandate from the Digital India Corporation (DIC) to power DIKSHA (Digital Infrastructure for Knowledge Sharing), India's national platform for open education digital content.

With this mandate, Airtel will leverage its advanced Cloud and CDN solutions to power DIKSHA's digital infrastructure, ensuring free access to educational content in the preferred Indian languages of students across the nation. This will benefit students in far-flung and remote locations and simplify the enrollment process and expand access to educational resources.

DIKSHA is an initiative under the aegis of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, aims to provide quality e-content in the form of e-textbooks and audiobooks for free to teachers and learners across the country. The platform has delivered 5700 crore minutes of learning, with an impressive enrollment and course completion rate of 82 per cent.

As part of the collaboration, Airtel Cloud will oversee the migration of DIKSHA to Oracle Cloud and provide managed services alongside CDN solutions.

In a statement, Praveen Agarwal, Head – Govt. Business, Airtel Business said, “We are thrilled to partner with the Ministry of Education to bolster this crucial education infrastructure and advance its accessibility to millions of children across the country with our state-of-the-art cloud and CDN services.”
