BUILT ON THE MISSION to bring easy access and affordable medicines across the country, Arjun Deshpande has transformed his vision into reality by launching Generic Aadhaar, a company that provides quality medicines from reputed pharma companies at up to 80 per cent lesser prices. Being one of the youngest founders, Deshpande now envisions expanding to every city, aiming to offer the biggest portfolio of generic medicines from government-approved quality manufacturing facilities.

We all know that the health sector has gained momentum post-2020 period. When asked about the growth the company witnessed last year, Deshpande states, “We touched every city through our unique and innovative franchise opportunities, helping retail stores grow along with us. We have now started operating in over 100 cities, not only in tier-1 cities but also in tier-2 and tier-3 cities across India. Our aim is to target 150-200 crores turnover by 2022-2023.”

While the world was grappling with the effects of coronavirus, innovation became the cornerstone for the survival of most companies. There were some pathbreaking ideas emerging to pull people out of such difficult times. Deshpande believes that innovation in any field is always an important aspect to grow differently and get noticed. He says, “In my case, I used to watch how the malls have taken over to this 8+ lakhs single medical stores in the market. I then researched on the pharma industry very closely and that’s how Generic Aadhaar was born, purely for the people of India,” he adds.

CREATING ENTREPRENEURS

A great idea must always be backed by a team that makes the dream come alive. Fueled by enthusiasm and proactiveness, Deshpande has sought to create entrepreneurs through his stores. “We train them to serve the nation without any high branding techniques or advertisements. Now, with a few awards and achievements in our kitty, people themselves reach out to us to join us in our mission and vision. Their willingness to associate with us, in turn, strengthens us,” he asserts.

Talking of what gives a competitive advantage to his company, Deshpande elaborates, “Innovation and revolution in the pharma industry by thinking about a common man and senior citizens, who get the maximum benefits with their monthly medicine bill be cut short.”

Further, Deshpande states, “Also, I am not a job seeker, rather a job creator for many who have lost their jobs in the pandemic. The thought of creating entrepreneurs in each city, along with our innovative ideas, is what makes me different from the rest.” “Not many know, but I was titled ‘The Pharma Wonder Kid’. I am glad that my work is reaching out to everyone and companies are looking forward to collaborating with us”.

PUSH FOR WIDER ACCESS

Year 2021 is likely going to be the year of disruption for the healthcare industry. Deshpande, having already crossed over 100 cities in 2020, now aims to go beyond 200 cities this year.

“We have already launched and announced our 30 in-house Generic Aadhaar medicines in 2020, along with 80-100 more in-house products for the underprivileged people who struggle with the unnecessary high prices of life-saving drugs. Our aim and vision are the same as our Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s - affordable healthcare facilities for all,” Deshpande states.

“True spirit of any work lies in the never giving up attitude and strong willpower.” Deshpande shares his mantra for a successful business, serving for best will make you stand unique amongst the rest!
