Accenture in India said it is integrating electric vehicles into its transportation fleet across four key locations including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad and the National Capital Region.

This move is expected to provide climate-smart travel options for Accenture employees and contribute to a substantial reduction in the company's carbon footprint.

Accenture's latest initiative aligns with its global commitment to drive tangible environmental change and operating sustainably. The company has set ambitious goals, including achieving net-zero emissions by the end of 2025, adopting zero waste practices, and proactively addressing water risk.

Ajay Vij, Country Managing Director at Accenture in India, emphasised the organisation's unwavering dedication to sustainability and its desire to integrate these values into every aspect of its operations.

He stated, "We embed sustainability into everything we do, with everyone we work with, creating both business value and sustainable impact. The introduction of electric vehicles in our fleet will enable climate-smart travel options for our people in India and further our commitment towards running sustainable business operations and meeting our net-zero emissions goal."

In 2022, the Accenture in India successfully implemented a renewable electricity mix exceeding 99 per cent in its offices. Additionally, the company achieved a commendable feat by reusing or recycling 100 per cent of its e-waste associated with computers and workstations.
