RSS-affiliated farmers' organisation organised a "Kisan Garjana" demonstration on Monday at Ramleela Ground in Delhi and warned that the states and the BJP-led central government will face trouble if their demands weren't met in a timely manner.

In order to participate in the rally held by the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, thousands of farmers from a number of states, including Punjab, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, travelled to Delhi on tractors, motorbikes, and buses while facing the bitter weather (BKS).

According to a BKS member, they are asking the government for relief measures such as rolling back the GST on agricultural activity and increasing the income support offered under the PM-Kisan plan.

"State and central administrations would face difficulty if they do not heed the farmers' demand in time," the BKS warned in a note.

The farmers have also demanded that the licence for the commercial cultivation of genetically modified crops is revoked and that they be paid fair prices for their goods based on the cost of their inputs.

All land-holding farmer families are given an income support of Rs 6,000 per year in three equal instalments under the PM-Kisan scheme, which was introduced in December 2018.
