India setting high goals for the next IP

Patrick Kilbride, ED, International IP U.S. Chamber of Commerce in conversation with Chahat Jain of BWBusinessworld says that there are many different factors which determine a country’s rank in the IP index, India being a huge and diverse country is trying to maintain its rank by the rapid development. Initiatives like Make in India, Digital India and others are a major help in boosting the economy but India still has a tough road ahead especially for infrastructure and small and medium enterprises. Patrick further added that international property has no effects on the vast section of medicines. 96% of medicines are under WHO and only the newly added fall under the international property. Thus, there is no direct control over the prices.
