PM Modi's Third Nepal Visit: Five Reasons Why His Visit Is Important

Modi’s third visit to Nepal within a period of three years shows his commitment to the neighborhood first policy and his tact to handle foreign policies. India has an open border with Nepal which permits passport-free entry. Nepal is also an intermediary between the Chinese- occupied Tibet and India, and any sort of development in Nepal will directly have an impact on India’s security.

A 900 MW Arun III project is being developed by India which is expected to be completed within five years. Arun III is the largest hydropower project being developed in Nepal which has recently been given the generation licence. This project aims to provide free electricity, royalty and tax, and this way will provide the Nepal government as well as India with billions of dollars. The project will definitely prove to be a game changer for Nepalese government and India as well.
