Oatmeal is made of milled oat grains and consists of both soluble and insoluble fibres. Oats are a wonderful source of vitamin B, magnesium, and fiber. The carbohydrates found in oatmeal help increase levels of serotonin in the brain which is an antidepressant hormone in the body. To be on a safer side, avoid instant oatmeals with high sugar content. If you are having a sweet tooth, try oatmeal and pear smoothie with honey.
