Positive Thinking First Step To Success
AMAN GARG
Last year, I was not able to crack the CAT. I was miserable. I thought it was the end for me. I nearly lost faith in myself. Slowly and steadily, I came to my senses and realization dawned upon me that inspite of everything it was a good experience as I had a got the feel of what I was in for. As I was a student of commerce I was not clear with the basics of various topics in Quant and DI. Another reason may also have been the lack of seriousness because I was concentrating more on my graduation rather than on the CAT. Somehow, everyone feels that cracking the CAT is a piece of cake!!!
This year, after my graduation, I joined my father's business of shares and stocks brokerage. After putting in 2 months, I realized that only a graduation is not good enough and looking into the present world scenario one needs to be at least a postgraduate. Moreover, I wanted to make my own entity. Now it's my aim in life to get an admission into a top management institute in India and get a professional qualification plus experience and knowledge in the relevant area to help me finally create MY entity in the area of my interest. This year I am preparing for the CAT at T.I.M.E. Delhi. I am putting in a lot of effort. I am looking at my mistakes, analyzing my mock CAT papers and trying to eliminate/ minimize/ rectify my weak areas and clear the cut off in every section. I am focusing on my weaknesses and increasing my efficiency level. I have made newspaper-reading a habit. I continue to read novels, a past-time that I enjoy. I am working on getting hold of various techniques and fundamentals in the Quant and DI sections.
My real inspiration are my parents. After my failure of last year, they were the ones who motivated me and egged me on to give it one more shot. Had it not been for them, I may not have been so inspired to appear again. It is all because of them that I have joined regular coaching once again and am also beginning to see sense in it. The atmosphere, student-friends, the Faculty, the mock-CATs, the entire gamut really keep me going. I know exactly what I am looking for and I am all set to GO GET IT!!! I know where I want to be in the next few years. Now cracking the CAT is my only goal. I am determined to crack it and I WILL crack it. We learn more from failures than successes. Failure means success is not far behind…
