Parivartan had an on-the-spot registration and saw as many as 20 teams queuing up for it

IIT Delhi celebrated its annual business fest, Parivartan 2008, with top business schools such as IIM-A, IIM-C, IIM-L, NITIE, IIFT, MDI, XLRI, JBIMS and FMS participating in the three-day fest.

Parivartan began with a series of programmes, the first a competition called Protostar, an HR consultancy game. The game is based on "how to improve recruitment and motivation practices at Defence Research and Development (DRDO)". The event had an on-the-spot registration and saw as many as 20 teams queuing up for it. The ultimate winners were part-time MBA students from DMS, IIT Delhi. Day One also saw the launch of the flagship event, Big Bang, an intense personality test.

Radio Mirchi, the title sponsors of Parivartan 2008, set up a radio station in the venue and students went live on air in a two-hour show. Also, there was Business Plan competition titled Poseidon, based on a telecom case presented by Tata Indicom. The panel of judges for Poseidon included experts from Tata Indicom and Alcatel Lucent. An intense and close fight between IIM C and NITIE finally resulted in NITIE walking away with the handsome prizes.

Cygnus, the case quest, in which students are given case studies of corporates and asked to give their solutions or inputs, drew enough participants. IIFT team was declared the winner. Another major event, Triton, the entrepreneurial challenge, was a big hit among students.

The last day of Parivartan was filled with activities like quiz, discussions and interaction series. Business Quiz was hosted by quiz master Avinash Mudaliar, and saw corporates jumping in to try their luck. It was among the most successful events in Parivartan with maximum on-the-spot participation of more than 40 teams. The day also saw the crowning of the winner (from DMS) of Big Bang after three days of gruelling effort. The event Triton was won by IMT Ghaziabad. A corporate dinner held at the Air Force Golf Course followed the day's events.

Finally, the three-day fest drew to a close on 17 February with the DJ night sponsored by Nestle.

The Parivartan experience has been a truly memorable one for the students of the Department of Management Studies, IIT Delhi. In the words of the organizers, "Putting Parivartan together has been a gargantuan effort, matched only by the immense feeling of satisfaction and achievement we have at the end of the day".
