We are delighted to invite nominations for the 10th edition of the ‘Businessworld-FICCI-SEDF Corporate Social Responsibility Award-2009’. The award recognises and applauds social commitment of corporates in the country. In its 10th year, the award has reached a defining milestone and is set to get bigger each year. In its journey, this unique platform has seen greater interest and keen involvement amongst corporate and industry thought leaders.

The award follows an exclusive three-tier assessment process, independent of the organisers – FICCI and Businessworld. Nominations received are thoroughly scrutinised by reputed international accountants and business advisors, Grant Thornton, India. Subsequently, Partners in Change, a well-known NGO in the area of CSR, conducts ‘on-site assessment’ of the CSR work of shortlisted companies. Finally, an independent Jury comprising eminent personalities from the relevant spheres makes the final selection of the Award winners.

Over the years, the award has been given away by eminent persons like Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, Late Shri K R Narayanan, Shri P Chidambaram, Shri Yashwant Sinha, and Shri Arun Shourie, amongst others. A number of companies including SAIL, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Chemicals, Tata Tea, HINDALCO, Gujarat Ambuja Cements, Kinetic Engineering, Canara Bank, Titan etc. have been recognized for their innovative programmes in the sphere of CSR.

This year, at the 10th anniversary of the Businessworld-FICCI-SEDF CSR Award, we aim at identifying and recognising efforts of companies in integrating and internalizing CSR into their core business operations. The nominations for the current year shall be considered under the following three major categories:

Category I: Businessworld-FICCI-SEDF CSR Award for Large Companies with turnover;
(a) Upto Rs. 1000 crores per annum
(b) Above Rs. 1000 crores per annum

Category II: Businessworld-FICCI-SEDF CSR Award for Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s) with turnover Upto Rs. 100 crores per annum

Category III: Businessworld-FICCI-SEDF CSR Award  for Exemplary Innovation promoting Corporate Social Responsibility.
