Yamaha Motor Launches An App To Hear The Bike Speak

Yamaha Motor launched an English version of – ‘RevTranslator’, an app for bikers that translates engine sounds of bikes into over 100 million different combinations of preset phrases to make the bike communicate to the rider.

It purports to supply riders with a translation of what their bikes are saying and follows the Japanese version that was launched first in Japan.

‘RevTranslator’ requires a smartphone sound recorder to record the engine’s sound and understand the bike’s speed, the time of the day, weather and other complex information. Basis this information, it communicates back with one of over 100 million preset phrases. The engine’s translated “emotions” vary depending on the engine sound, the time of day and the weather. The users can choose from six different characters to represent the bike, including a ‘cool’ male character or a ‘cute’ female—the responses evaluated to be communicated are influenced by these personalities. Every time the user translates, the user can also accumulate points by using the application to unlock rare caricatures of various Yamaha products used worldwide while having fun hearing the engine “talk”.

ANTHE Is Back With Its 5th Editon
Aakash, an institute for medical and engineering coaching, entered the Kota market, furthers its efforts in motivating the medical and engineering aspirants by conducting the fifth edition of the Aakash National Talent Hunt (ANTHE) 2014. The date of the examination is scheduled on the 23 November 2014, across 20 different states of the country. The last date of application is stipulated as 12th November 2014 with a minimal examination fee of Rs 300.

The students shall appear for a sum total of 360 marks which will be bifurcated amongst Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Mental Ability. Top 1000 students will be awarded with 100 per cent rebate on their tuition fee and cash prizes, out of which 500 will be from medical stream and the other half from the engineering stream.

The total amount of scholarship given by AESL is Rs 19 crores and the cash prize sums up to Rs 64 lakh. However there are certain criteria to be fulfilled for the scholarships. The scholarship is divided in two categories for the medical aspirants and engineering aspirants. These two categories are further divided into three sub-categories each in order of the ANTHE ranks earned by the students. The students holding ranks from 1st to 100th shall enjoy 100% rebate from Tuition fee, Admission fee and Registration Fee. Students standing between 101st to 250th Rank are entitled to pay only the Registration Fee and students holding ranks from 251 to 500 shall receive rebate from the Tuition fee. Students holding positions after the first 1000 shall receive waivers ranging from 70%- 50% in the tuition fee depending upon the rank category they fall into and there are waivers for students after the 5000 ranks ranging between 45%-10%.

The countrywide talents hunt is being conducted across the country that covers the states of Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Jammu and Srinagar, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerela, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Utter Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal. AESL also announces that more centers of ANTHE can be created on request from the students or parents subject to a minimum enrolment of 100 at a Center.

American Express Appoints Manoj Adlakha As CEO, India Business

Tata Motors August Sales At 40,883 Vehicles
Tata Motors’ total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in August 2014 were 40,883 vehicles, a decline of 18 per cent over 49,611 vehicles sold in August 2013. The company’s domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for August 2014 were 36,403 vehicles, 19 per cent decline over 44,717 vehicles sold in August last year. 

Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal are 190,476 vehicles, lower by 25 per cent over 254,355 vehicles, sold last year.
