Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, Note 5 Pro Sales Figures Cross 5 Million Mark
Xiaomi has sold more than five million units of their Redmi Note 5 series in India. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro were launched back in February this year with prices starting from Rs 9,999 and Rs 14,999, respectively.
Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has announced the Indian sales figures of its popular Redmi Note 5 series. According to Xiaomi, Redmi Note 5 series have crossed 5 million sales in India within 4 months of launch.
Earlier, Redmi Note 5’s successor Redmi Note 4 was India’s bestselling device with more than 10 million units sold within one year of launch and 5 million units in its first six months.
While Note 5 series crossed 5 million within four months which makes it arguably the fastest selling phone series in India in the given time across all platforms.
“Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro, including all variants for both smartphones, have gained massive popularity and received huge love from Mi fans. We have worked diligently to ramp up the supplies of our Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro so that Mi Fans can buy them easily at any time,” Xiaomi said in a press statement.

Earlier this year, Redmi Note 5 series first went on sale for the first time on February 22. During the flash sale, Xiaomi sold 3,00,000 Note 5 and Note 5 Pro smartphones within three minutes after the sale commenced.
Redmi Note 5, Note 5 Pro price in India starts from Rs 9,999 and Rs 14,999, respectively. Redmi Note 5 Pro is still available through flash sales while Redmi Note 5 can be easily purchased without waiting for flash sale rounds.
Interestingly, Xiaomi increased the price of Redmi Note 5 Pro from May by Rs 1,000 due to changes in the tax structure on PCBA imports and depreciation of Indian Rupee. For more than two months, Redmi Note 5 Pro was sold at Rs 13,999, after the hike it costs Rs 14,999 in India.
