We are slowly approaching the D-Day — May 23 — when the results of the ongoing general elections will be announced.
Chances are that the Narendra Modi government will come back to power. Chances are that it may fall short of the required number, and an alternate combination lays claim to power at the Centre. Whatever the eventuality, exciting times await us.
So, how did the Narendra Modi government fare in its five-year-long period? What were the hits and misses of the government? How does the report card read, when compared to its predecessor, the Manmohan Singh government?

For this, we have mapped the post-liberalisation governments, and factored the ministries that have an economic imprint.
We put the Corporate Survey results on the Cover and the findings are surprising, to say the least. While some are usual suspects that you may think on any given day, some names set you thinking. Some are perceived to be tainted, yet they figure on the list. We have not fiddled with the findings. We present them as we found out in the survey. To get an independent view, we ask two outsiders, both accomplished commentators, to validate the findings. They may agree, disagree; they may go with the names, they may trash the choice.
We present the findings as they are, before you, dear reader, and it’s for you to make your own choices and draw your conclusions.
