Vistara To Connect Delhi To Port Blair Starting September 30

Full service carrier, Vistara, is going to add Port Blair as its 18th destination starting September 30 connecting New Delhi to the capital city of Andaman and Nicobar Island via Kolkata enhancing its regional connectivity.
“Port Blair and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands are increasingly becoming popular leisure destinations in India. The islands offer history, culture, water sports, and natural beauty including some of the best beaches in Asia. Our new route offers direct daily service to Port Blair from Kolkata as well as a one-stop Delhi-Port Blair-Delhi service via Kolkata. With these new services we strive towards enhancing regional connectivity to a location where air connectivity is vital for the economy and growth as it is the only convenient means of travel for residents of the islands and travellers alike,” said Phee Teik Yeoh, CEO of Vistara.
Within 17 months of operation, Vistara has rapidly expanded its services with 487 weekly frequencies across 18 destinations in India. Vistara has already achieved in flying more than two million customers.
Vistara, a joint venture between SIA and Tata Sons, flies to destinations such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Goa, Guwahati, Bagdogra, Bhubaneswar, Varanasi, Srinagar, Jammu, Kochi, Chandigarh, Kolkata and now Port Blair.
Vistara reported a market share of 2.5 per cent during the period of January to April as per the latest DGCA data.

With this new flight, the frequency of Vistara’s flight between Delhi and Kolkata will also increase to three flights daily.
Earlier, two daily services to Kolkata from Delhi had commenced on June 10 this year, and has seen very high demand for Vistara’s product.
