It has been said that the step came after Varun Gandhi publicly expressed his displeasure over the Lakhimpur violence on Twitter and other policies of Prime Minister Modi-led Central Government including controversial farm laws.

Amid the ongoing Lakhimpur controversy, BJP MP Varun Gandhi and his mother and veteran leader Maneka Gandhi have been kept out of the 80-member BJP’s National Executive, announced by JP Nadda, Party Chief JP Nadda, on Thursday.

It has been said that the step came after Varun Gandhi publicly expressed his displeasure over the Lakhimpur violence on Twitter and other policies of Prime Minister Modi-led Central Government including controversial farm laws.

Varun Gandhi, after the deadly incident took place, took to Twitter and wrote (roughly translated to English), “This video of deliberately crushing farmers with vehicles in Lakhimpur Kheri will shake anyone's soul. Police should take cognizance of this video and immediately arrest the owners of these vehicles, the people sitting in them, and other persons involved in this case.”

Varun Gandhi in another tweet wrote, “The video is crystal clear. Protestors cannot be silenced through murder. There has to be accountability for the innocent blood of farmers that has been spilled and justice must be delivered before a message of arrogance and cruelty enters the minds of every farmer.”
