Ultimate Bartender Championship 2018: Bengaluru boy Vedant Mehra takes the title home

Nine cities and 550 contestants later, Bengaluru’s Vedant Mehra got crowned as India’s Ultimate Bartender at the Ultimate Bartender Championship 2018 organised by Monkey Shoulder. The winner also rode home a fully curated and customized 500cc motorcycle and will now head to the Athens Bar Show with an all expenses paid trip.
“I am over the moon to win this biggest competition possible for me, it is a very big achievement to be the best amongst the best of India. The ultimate bartender championship is an amazing initiative by Monkey Shoulder as it exposed us to international standards of bartending and is taking us to global platforms such as the Athens Bar Show,” said Vedant Mehra after being declared as the winner at the grand finale.

The 2018 season of the championship began in Mumbai, and was followed by Pune, Goa, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Delhi, Gurgaon, and Chandigarh. Over 550 contestants were judged on their unique techniques, insights, speed and skills behind the bar.
Hosted by Joe Petch, global brand ambassador of Monkey Shoulder, the championship concluded on 28th June 2018 in New Delhi. Monkey Shoulder’s India brand ambassador Pankaj Balachandran and Southeast Asia brand ambassador Jay Gray were also present at the grand finale.
