It’s really funny as well as great that these days everything depends on your genes.
What do you mean by that?
I mean that everything depends on where you are born.
Why are you saying this what has prompted it?
Everywhere you read about youngsters of rich and affluent families creating news and inheriting not only the families’ riches but also even stepping into the business without any knowledge.
Well, that is the case in life.
I can understand the firstborn of royal families sitting on the throne after the ruling monarch passes away. But when a dumb son of a billionaire is given importance by the media and people all around, then it’s a laughing matter.
Yes, that is sad.
Everyone knows that if it weren’t for the famous surname he would never get a job even as a clerk.
You are quite right about that.
Of course, this is always true about movie stars whose children overnight become celebrities without acting in a single frame of a movie.
Oh that is quite normal. Children whose parents are not stars have to depend on their talent and luck.
What is really crazy is how the media drools over star kids calling them gorgeous beauties and featuring them in the magazine when they are still teenagers and dressing them like 30-year-olds.
It’s the age of great PR and instant publicity, which at times can be bought; otherwise unknown persons wouldn’t become overnight sensations.
There are instances where heirs to hotel empires are pushed in the limelight by the media and all that these scions can talk about is their favourite food.
Yes that does sound silly.
In politics, this is very common where children follow their parents’ footsteps when they don’t have a clue about politics.
That is why the conditions in some countries are quite sad, since governing needs education and intelligence.
Even in media, it’s the children of the publishers/editors who get fame.
At times even the siblings of Channel TV heads get readymade shows to anchor.
The sports fields are not spared. Children of famous sports persons walk confidently on the cricket, football, hockey, kabaddi fields, while talented players are left out because their parents can’t pull strings.
That is very common in team sports. Thankfully it’s not prevalent in billiards, tennis, badminton, squash, racing where individual skills are important.
At times even the medical and legal professions are not spared where children of doctors and lawyers get a smooth passage into college admissions even with low marks.
Now that is very scary because these professions need real experts in their field or the lives of people are at risk.
Yes, but does anyone care about that? It’s how much pull the family surname has in the particular profession that helps the children to get in without any effort.
Well, it is nepotism in all walks of life; so it’s important “To The Manor Born” since one can’t depend just on talent and luck to be a success in life.
