At the Women Economic Forum event in April 2018 in New Delhi, there was a session on “Energizing the World through Food & Lifestyle”.

Nidhi Nilesh Kaku, Yoga Trainer, Naturotherapist, Bijal’s Yoga Divine, said, “I am going to focus on what is correct and what is right. Sleep is utmost necessary, as higher amount of sleep like good 8-9 hours. Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, memory problems come up with lack of sleep. Sleep is utmost important for creativity. Water intake and water temperature is another important aspect. Low hydration can cause problems like headaches, light-headedness, bad breath and dry mouth, constipation and digestive issues, joint and muscle pain and accelerated heartbeat, fatigue and lethargy. Hot water is extremely good for you, it improves digestion, alleviates menstrual cramps, slows down aging, sheds excess pounds, and improves blood circulation and metabolism.”

Kaku also added, “Food designing is integral, and you can design your meal for your body to heal. We mainly focus on carbohydrates. We should focus on proteins as well, from dal and pulses. Fats are also important, as it increases the absorption of vitamins. Vegetable and fruits are the most important for vitamins and minerals. Fluids also form an integral part of our meal design. But not aerated drinks, as they increase calorie content and they are the biggest dehydrators of our body. Fluids should be water based." “Early morning, you should water your body, break your fast and mend your health. Accept lunch and discard brunch. Heart attacks happen early morning as the body is dehydrated. It is important to drink water instead of coffee, first thing in the morning”, she said.

She also went on to add, “There should be enough of calcium in your blood-flow. Micro and macronutrients are important through breakfast. It’s better to accept a proper meal. Ideal snacking should include fruits, sprouts, and nuts and so on. Dine like mice to keep your body healthy and nice. We need to cut down our dinner size. Don’t dig your grave by craving sugar. Sugar is a component of almost any disease as it leads to inflammation. The alternatives to sugars are fruits, dry fruits, organic jaggery, honey, stevia, cardamom, nuts, and vegetables and so on. Say no to alcohol, smoke, and drugs as it fastens the aging process." Kaku also said, “Red wine is actually good for certain cases, as proved by research. Exercising is very important, and variety is the fitness mantra, and mobility decreases mortality. Movement decreases the death rate. Yoga is also important. Increasing blood flow will cut down on aging as well. Have a gadget-free hour. The moment you are away from the gadget, you can plan something creative, and you can dwell completely into meditation.”

“You have to fight stress to manage the mess. Gadget-free hours reduce stress. Fixing our schedule is also important as opposed to fighting time challenges and it does decrease stress, which is scientifically proven. Health as a full notion is a family of everything which sums up the personality that you are and project out. If you don’t know who you are, how will you transform?”
