The Eye Pad

THE INTENT: The iPad is a digital content consuming device, not meant to create heavy content of any sort — text or video. Fundamentally, it is an online video player; it can also be an ereader. Apple, or Steve Jobs, ostensibly thinks reading plain text is dull and that people are not inclined to such things any more. But Apple wants to shape how people consume video.
