Indian Mountaineer Satyarup Climbs the World’s Highest Volcano
Indian Mountaineer Satyarup Siddhanta has climbed the highest volcano in the world. Ojos del Salado is a stratovolcano which is a volcano built of alternate lava and ash layers in the Andes on Argentina-Chile border. The volcano is also the highest active volcano in the world at the height of 22,615 feet. Satyarup hoisted the Indian Flag at 40-degree centigrade, skiing to the last degree of the South Pole. He is so much passionate about his interest in climbing that he just resigned his regular job at an instant without even thinking anything in 2015 when he made his first attempt in climbing the Mt. Everest. The man is ready to set a new record of becoming the first Indian to climb the highest volcano of Antarctica, Mt. Sidley, making his dream of scaling seven summits and seven volcanic summits come true.
Trade War Begins between the United States and China
The administration of the US President Donald Trump slapped 25% tariffs on Chinese goods worth US$34 billion, three days later China’s Ministry of Commerce said, “In the process of determining which US products should be subject to retaliatory tariffs, the Chinese side has fully considered substitution for imported goods and the overall impact on trade and investment.” This idea was aimed at China’s ‘Made in China 2025’ industrial policy, which is thought of being an aggressive Chinese strategy of becoming hi-tech superpower.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Tesla cars have become considerably costlier in China over the weekend. The Model X is now priced at $140,100, for instance, over $20,000 more than the $117,100 it previously sold for. The Model S, at $128,400, is also roughly $21,000 more expensive than it previously was, the Journal reports. The Chinese tariff on electric cars shot up from 15 % to 40%, reports Bloomberg.
“It is the biggest challenge,” said Shi Yinhong, an international affairs specialist at Renmin University in Beijing and adviser to the State Council.
“If the trade war is fought on a broad scale and lasts some time, China’s economy and finances will surely be damaged. The great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, or Chinese dream, won’t always be upwards.”
