Sugar eases on lower demand

Mumbai, Mar 14 (PTI) Prices of both varieties of sugar eased at the Vashi wholesale market here today following lower demand from stockists and retailers.

Small sugar (S-30) fell by Rs 4/23 per quintal to Rs 3,116/3,202 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 3,120/3,225.

Medium sugar (M-30) edged down by Rs 2 per quintal to Rs 3,186/3,400 as against Rs 3,186/3,402 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets: Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,116/3,202 (Rs (3,120/3,225).
