Both varieties of sugar prices small and medium gained at the Vashi wholesale market today on good demand from stockists, retailers and bulk consumers amid festive offtake.

Small sugar prices rebounded by Rs 38/30 per quintal to Rs 3,680/3,742 from Wednesday's closing Rs 3,642/3,712.

Medium sugar firmed up by Rs 6 per quintal to Rs 3,752/3,946 as compared Rs 3,752/3,952 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,680/3,742 (Rs 3,642/3,712).
