Select base metals decline on lower demand

Mumbai, Jan 3 (PTI) Select base metals including copper, brass and tin declined at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists' selling amid lower demand from industrial users.

While, nickel and lead recovered owing to fresh demand from alloy industries.

Tin slid by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,350 from Tuesday's close Rs 1,360.

Brass sheet cuttings and copper sheet cuttings slipped by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 342 and Rs 423 as against Rs 347 and Rs 428 yesterday.

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy and copper billets moved down by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 448, Rs 439 and Rs 476 as against Rs 451, Rs 442 and Rs 479, respectively.

Copper armiture, brass utensils scrap and zinc edged down by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 427, Rs 330 and Rs 238 as compared yesterday's close Rs 429, Rs 332 and Rs 240.

However, nickel rose by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 840 from Rs 835 yesterday, and lead inched up per kg to Rs 172. PTI BPD MKJ
