Sadhguru At SRCC, Delhi – Celebrating Youth & Truth
Through the Youth and Truth platform, Sadhguru will connect directly with the youth of the nation and offer clarity on issues that matter to them the most
Sadhguru, Founder of Isha Foundation, yogi and mystic, was at Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) for its inaugural session of Youth and Truth. A month-long travelling series that will take Sadhguru to college campuses around India including IITs, IIMs and JNU among others.
Through the Youth and Truth platform, Sadhguru will connect directly with the youth of the nation and offer clarity on issues that matter to them the most.
The indoor stadium of SRCC was packed to capacity as its student community turned out in full strength to catch a glimpse of the yogi with a massive global youth following. This is the first event of its kind to be held in SRCC since the college opened its doors.
In his inimitable style, Sadhguru quipped, “In my college days...one (had to) become a doctor or engineer. If one doesn't make it in either, then one gets into a commerce college.” It set the tone for a gripping Q&A session with Sadhguru. In response to a question about whether jealousy, considered a negative emotion, can also be a motivator, Sadhguru said, “Running fast because one's tail is on fire or due to a dog's chase is not the way to run. It is important that one is fast. But it is also important that the experience of run is fantastic. But speed of donkeys whose tails are on fire is good!”
The 2-hour long, no-holds-barred session left the students asking for more. Students of SRCC wanted to know the truth about everything from Adiyogi to social media; relationships to parenting and goal setting to confidence building. Redefining what it means to be young and alive, Sadhguru told the students, “If you want to experience your life, then it doesn’t mean you have to get intoxicated or party every night. You have to take this instrument to the highest possible sensitivity,” referring to the human body.
Sadhguru didn’t shy away from shaking a leg to Mohit Chauhan’s electric performance and playing frisbee with the students underlining why he is so popular with young people around the world. Sounds of Isha, Isha’s home-grown music troupe delivered foot-tapping and soulful renditions bringing the students to their feet.
Earlier, Sadhguru had tweeted about the inaugural edition of Youth and Truth. “Today we are launching Youth and Truth with the vibrant youth of SRCC in Delhi. A campaign to make Truth mainstream. Truth not through the seriousness of a Gospel but with the playfulness of Gossip.”
Youth and Truth offers no advice, morals, philosophies or teachings. Instead, Sadhguru’s incisive intellect cuts to the core of every question and helps the questioner get to the truth about the issue. Sadhguru has often said that with the country’s demographic advantage, India can become one of the most dynamic nations if its youth are skilled, balanced and competent. Youth and Truth is an attempt to equip future citizens with clarity and confidence to help them make life choices that will allow them to explore their full potential joyfully.
