Ramco Signs 10 Aviation Deals

Ramco Systems, an aviation software provider on cloud, mobile and tablets, has signed 10 aviation deals in FY 2012-13. This includes, aviation majors such as Emirates, GoAir, Air Tahiti, Caribbean Airlines, Hevilift among others.

The last quarter of the financial year saw four new wins including a new regional airline in India, a start-up charter airline and a specialty Heli-operator, both based out of Thailand, and an Aerospace component manufacturer in Asia.

Workspaces bring in a fundamental change in the way users interact with the application. It is steered by a data driven interaction pattern and powerful visualizations. Role-based ‘Workspaces’ make the application “intuitive” and does away with a typical software usage experience of menus and screens. A workspace presents actionable data and alerts in the form of a To-do / exception list. This in turn enables users to prioritize work and effectively manage information flow, thereby enabling better productivity, reduced time and an enjoyable experience all together.

As a leading provider of Aviation Maintenance & Engineering (M&E) and Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) software solutions, Ramco has been offering a comprehensive solution for Heli-operators, Airlines, MROs, and Non-scheduled Operators, globally in their preferred delivery model—on-premise or on Cloud. In the last one year, the company has been focusing on building Mobility, Usability and ease of use to make the user experience truly rewarding.

Refex To Triple Its Solar Power Capacity
Refex is now aiming to triple its installation capacity base next year under government run JNNSM (Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission) which aims at deploying 20,000 MWp by 2022 in the country.
Standing with a 50 MWp installed capacity & more orders in the books Refex aims a portfolio of 150 MWp installations in FY 13-14.
According to Anil Jain, MD - Refex Energy, "In 2010 there was hardly any production and the installed capacity of Solar PV plants that were grid connected was around 13 MWp and if we include off-grid, the figure would not go beyond 30 MWp. The scenario has completely changed today with the initiation of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission, state initiatives, stringent rules being established in the Power Purchase Agreements and provision of subsidies. Solar PV plants have taken a big leap forward and are all set to fulfill a target of 1500 MW by March 2013."
With 50 per cent annual increase in solar power installations executed during the last three years, Refex Energy's growth trajectory is an example of India's resurgent Solar PV (Photovoltaic) Plants Sector.
Refex have recently commissioned 2 large projects in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

Juniper Networks Unveils Programmable Core Switch
Juniper Networks, the industry leader in network innovation, has unveiled three new products designed to boost business agility and simplify network management.

A massive spike in BYOD, mobile users and new enterprise application deployments has created network congestion and complexity. Compounded with the challenge of contracting IT budgets, these trends have severely restricted IT’s ability to quickly respond and maintain network reliability. Many enterprises use single purpose legacy infrastructures, built in silos and defined by their location in the enterprise, that can’t keep pace with rapid changes in compute, storage and application requirements and often inhibit service delivery. In order to maximize delivery and availability of next-generation cloud services, server virtualization and rich media applications, Juniper introduces a new agile, “programmable” network. This will enable network operators to respond to business changes and monitor and react to how the network meets application service level agreement (SLA) requirements in a matter of seconds, not days or weeks.

Juniper Networks has addressed these challenges with a series of new products for enterprise campus and data center infrastructures. The new Juniper Networks EX9200 Programmable Switch enables accelerated response to changing business needs, while its built-in ability to support a virtual WLAN controller, the Juniper Networks JunosV Wireless LAN Controller, will deliver high levels of reliability and flexibility across the enterprise to lower capital expense. The Junos Space Network Director provides a single-pane-of-glass network management solution for wired and wireless LANs and data centers, consolidating multiple management tools to simplify network operations and deliver a comprehensive advanced platform that prepares enterprises for tomorrow’s applications, services and workload demands.
