Ram Nath Kovind To Be 14th President Of India

As per election commission, Ram Nath Kovind won the battle with 7,02,044 votes. On the other hand, Mira Kumar got 367314 votes.

The wait is over now for the presidential post as Ram Nath Kovind, the candidate of the Bhartiya Janta Party, defeated the Opposition's candidate Meira Kumar.

As per election commission, Ram Nath Kovind won the battle with 7,02,044 votes. On the other hand, Mira Kumar got 367314 votes.

There is also invalid vote cast in this election by MLA's and MP's of states, according to the chief returning officer of the election commission and the total invalid vote counts were 77.

The Race to Raisina Hills ended here. Kovind has become the 2nd Dalit to occupy the presidential post after KR Narayanan, who has served as a president from 1997 to 2002.

Ram Nath Kovind will take oath as President and assume office from 25 July 2017 for next five year. He succeeds Pranab Mukherjee, who is the 13th president of India till 24 July.

Opposition candidate Mira Kumar congratulated him.
