Piggyback For Publicity
Why all companies these days need to piggyback on Bollywood stars for publicity?

I am really shocked at how even well-known people and organisations will do anything for publicity these days.
Why what has happened?
The other day an educational institute celebrated 300 years in teaching thousands of students.
That’s great news.
But instead of inviting some of the well-known students who had contributed to society with their great work, they invited a young Bollywood starlet whose only claim to fame was running around in movies.
Oh dear, that is sad and doesn’t speak much of the institute’s achievements.
They apparently did this to get publicity, since the lady posed in various parts of the institute and the media featured her.
How sad maybe an intellectual achiever from the institute would have made better copy and would have been more inspiring and could have been a learning experience for future generations.
Yes agree, but even a big pharmaceutical company celebrated 200 years in existence by inviting a Bollywood action hero for the event.
Maybe they were hinting he was great in action because of their products and would be great publicity for them.
That’s silly, but did you hear the best selling engineering company that is internationally known called a Bollywood romantic star for its 50th-anniversary celebrations.
Well in Bollywood many romances are engineered, so it could be very apt.
I even heard that a company that makes high tech machinery celebrated its 200th anniversary and invited a Bollywood drama queen as its chief guest.
Well, drama in Bollywood has taken on a high tech route with social media ruling the world.
There was another celebration of 150 years by a real estate company that invited a Bollywood multi-talented icon as a chief guest.
Now you know the real estate business is very multi-talented so the selection is quite correct.
Last month, a jewellery brand celebrated 100 years and invited a Bollywood comedy star for the event, which was a big joke.
Not at all, don’t you know these days some of the jewellery and the jewellers are jokers who seem to be very slippery with their pieces.
I cannot understand how these companies think. The other day a great law firm celebrated 200 years in the business and invited a Bollywood award-winning director.
Well, he must have been their best client, since Bollywood celebrities need legal advice all the time.
I even heard that a dependable bank celebrated 500 years in the business and invited a Bollywood superstar for the event.
Wow now that must be because that star either has a hefty account in the bank or the bank needs to improve its image with the public what with so many scams taking place.
I don’t understand why all companies these days need to piggyback on Bollywood stars for publicity. Don’t they have confidence in their abilities and products?
Don’t you know now you have to eat, read, sleep, think, laugh only with Bollywood stars or you are nobody and not moving with the times?
