The year 2020 will always be remembered for the depredations of the coronavirus pandemic. The education sector was disrupted too before course correction set in and institutions forced to shut down because of the lockdown, veered to online classes. The course correction saw the proliferation of EdTech companies and reports say investments in education tripled within the first seven months of the calendar year to $998 million, bringing it among sectors that saw maximum funding. B-schools too saw their teaching move online. We are about to see the rising popularity of management studies, primarily because they promise students a decent lifestyle. Now more than ever before, it is necessary to assess whether Indian B-schools graduates are indeed, equpipped to manoeuvre their way through an everevolving global business landscape. Young B-school graduates need to be aware of this changing landscape to be able to make a difference to the economy as a whole.

The BW Businessworld B-school rankings are considered gold class. B-schools are assessed on the basis of their curricula, placements, research, academic papers published and faculty. We find that while IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore are at pole position, IIM Calcutta and IIM Lucknow are not far behind. IIM Udaipur moves into the list of the top 20 because of the efforts of its Director, Janak Shah and for its superior industry connect. Another notable inclusion in the list is ICFAI Business School (IBS) Hyderabad, which received AACSB accreditation earlier this year.

We also feature interviews with B- school directors and leaders from the education space to help identify changing trends in this space and assess whether India could become a global hub for B-school education by 2025.

The following pages are a treasure trove for academics, students, faculty and even HR professionals looking to hire their next set of rising stars.
