OnePlus 6T With In-Display Fingerprint Scanner Launched In India; Price Starts From Rs 37,999

OnePlus has launched their new OnePlus 6T in India which brings some new features over its predecessor like smaller notch, in-display fingerprint scanner, bigger battery, larger screen size, Android 9.0 Pie, better low-light photography and more.

OnePlus has launched their latest smartphone OnePlus 6T in India today. OnePlus 6T brings some new changes with it over the previous OnePlus 6 like smaller notch, in-display fingerprint scanner, bigger battery, larger screen size, Android 9.0 Pie, better low-light photography and more. However, the brand has omitted the 3.5mm headphone jack and the users will have to either use USB Type-C headphones or Bluetooth ones.

OnePlus 6T Price and Availability in India

The handset comes three RAM+Storage configurations of 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB, and 8GB+256GB. OnePlus 6T comes in two colours Mirror Black and Midnight Black. However, the Midnight Black colour is not available in the 6GB RAM base model.  

OnePlus 6T price in India starts from Rs 37,999 for 6GB RAM option, Rs 41,999 for 8GB RAM+128GB Storage and Rs 45,999 for 256GB Storage option. OnePlus 6T will go on open sale in India from November 3 via Amazon, OnePlus' e-store, Reliance Digital outlets, Croma, and OnePlus' offline stores across India. 

OnePlus 6T Specifications and Features

The first noticeable update on the OnePlus 6T is its display with a tiny waterdrop notch. It features a bigger 6.41-inch FHD+ (2340x1080) optic AMOLED display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 6. 

This time, OnePlus has removed the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and instead opted the in-display fingerprint scanner, which is said to unlock the device in just 0.34 seconds. 

The new OnePlus 6T runs on OxygenOS based on Android 9.0 Pie. Similar to the previous OnePlus 6, this handset also gets a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with Adreno 630 GPU and 6GB/8GB of RAM. It comes with two internal storage options of 128GB and 256GB without an option of expandable storage.

OnePlus 6T sports a dual rear camera setup which includes 16-MP primary sensor (f/1.7 aperture, OIS+EIS, PDAF, 1.22 µm pixel size) and 20-MP secondary sensor (f/1.7 aperture, PDAF, 1.0 µm pixel size) with AI scene detection, Portrait mode, HDR, and Studio Lighting. 

OnePlus has also introduced a new camera feature 'Nightscape' for enhanced low-light photography. OnePlus 6 users will also get the Nightscape feature soon through a software update. For selfies, there is a 16-MP camera on the front with f/2.0 aperture, EIS, Portrait mode, screen flash, studio lighting, and HDR.  

Another improvement in the OnePlus 6T is its bigger 3,700mAh battery with fast charging, which according to OnePlus increases battery life by 20 percent. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and Location. The new OnePlus 6T measures 157.5 x x74.8 x 8.2mm and weighs 185 grams.
