Prior to my visit at Ocean Park, I was ambivalent about the place. I didn’t exactly know how the experience at Ocean Park would be but after the tour was completed, I wanted to visit again.

Theme parks continue to attract Indian tourists and Honk Kong is among one of the favorite locations for such parks, which includes- Ocean Park and Disneyland. While most of us are well-aware of what Disneyland offers, what many of us Indians don’t know about is the Hong Kong’s unique home-grown Ocean Park which offers a matchless experience.

Located on the southern side of Hong Kong Island, covering more than 90 hectares of land, Ocean Park is divided into two islands– the Waterfront and the Summit. To travel between the two islands, you can choose between cable car which offers astonishing view of the island and South China Sea or an underground train- Ocean Express which only takes four minutes to reach the destination.

No matter what your age is, a visit to Ocean Park will fill you with joy. There is everything for people of all age groups, from exciting thrill rides like VR roller coaster Mine Train, Hair Raiser, Whirly Bird, The Flash, Crazy Galleon and much more to visiting animals like Giant Panda, red panda, Sichuan golden sub-nosed monkey, koala, penguins, dolphins, Pacific Walrus and a huge number of aquatic species in the Grand Aquarium. The Park also takes care of world’s oldest Giant Panda named An An.

The Park has developed and established itself as a world-class attraction connecting people with nature, gaining consistent recognition for its animal husbandry, conservation and research efforts as well as its relationship with the community.

In addition to amazing thrill rides, animal encounters and attractions with local flavor, Ocean Park is also a new destination for both dining and nighttime entertainment in Southern Hong Kong, with varying live performances and a range of culinary choices offered at in-park restaurants and kiosks.

The Park's support work includes field rehabilitation, artificial breeding, field research and field studies for species, and the promotion of conservation knowledge in the community. The Park also uses in-park animal displays and educational programs to give visitors a better understanding of the importance of these species to the ecological environment.

The Park launches educational programs that engage students from kindergarten all the way to university level through informative in-park facilities, corporate programs and animal experiences.

Not only does it offer amazing thrill rides unlike other theme parks, Ocean Park is a balanced mix of entertainment, education and conservation facilities to guests.

As a result of the Park’s diverse offerings and continuous efforts in enhancing guests’ in-Park experience, Ocean Park is one of Hong Kong’s key tourist attractions, and has successfully promoted Hong Kong as an international tourist destination, directly and indirectly benefiting the local economy and tourism.

Ocean Park which started as an oceanarium, has gone from strength to strength to become Hong Kong’s acclaimed educational theme park. Since its opening, more than 140 million guests have visited Ocean Park.

Ocean Park recorded an attendance of 6 million last fiscal while also witnessing a slight increase of five percent Indian visitors. The Park highly values its Indian visitors, and has exerted promotional efforts, such as collaborating with other attractions and tourism-related industry partners.

That’s not all of it, a visit to Ocean Park will instill the need to care for animals, environment and necessity to conserve it.

But who wants that when you spend thousands of bucks to a foreign trip to watch some animals?

Falsely perceived, the journey to Ocean Park would be a balanced mix of entertainment, education and conservation facilities to guests.

Prior to my visit at Ocean Park, I was ambivalent about the place. I didn’t exactly know how the experience at Ocean Park would be but after the tour was completed, I wanted to visit again.

My perception of spending a vacation entirely changes, visiting there I realized how important it is for humans to conserve our environment.

So planning to take your children to Disneyland or Universal Studio? Visit Ocean Park and what you’ll experience would be unmatchable with brings joy and fond memories.
