CUNSULT, the world’s first instant advice application, was launched by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in the presence of the CEO of Niti Ayog, Amitabh Kant, Secretary, Information and Broadcasting, Apurva Chandra and the CEO of Editorji, Vikram Chandra on Thursday in Delhi.

As per the official statement, CUNSULT is an instant messaging and communication service by which knowledge seekers can talk or chat directly with a wide array of experts across diverse sectors to learn, upskill and improve prospects.

Its uniqueness lies in the use of the principles of convergence and context. It overcomes the shortcomings of existing social media by allowing communication with those outside our friend-network. Another unique feature is that experts can be searched in CUNSULT by either their name, competence or location, the statement added.

In the launch, Gadkari underlined the importance of knowledge as liquid wealth. He said that people were perpetually hungry for information, advice and guidance and hence a facility like CUNSULT was the need of the hour and bound to succeed.

It has about 425 experts who have onboarded the 65 diverse sectors of CUNSULT. These include artists and designers, educationists and counsellors: there are 22 Secretary rank former IAS officers, several generals from the military, several managing directors of banks and companies.

"CUNSULT was a remarkably simple product with easy functionality which would be extremely useful for the society for alleviating the growing information and knowledge needs of all people. It would give a new lease of life to retired civil servants and officers whose decades of learning and wisdom was otherwise wasted," said Kant.

CUNSULT is a step towards Web 3.0 because it uses the knowledge strengths of everybody, irrespective of their sector or location, and on the go. Every iota of knowledge and time is valued in CUNSULT. It is of use to students, faculty and corporates alike.

Chandra said that CUNSULT was an extremely useful facility for individuals, companies and society.
