Nickel firms up on rising demand

Mumbai, Apr 16 (PTI) Nickel firmed up at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists' buying amidst rising demand from alloy industries.

Elsewhere, copper rebounded marginally owing to renewed demand from industrial users.

While, brass and zinc eased due to sluggish demand from consuming industries.

Nickel rose by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 950 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 940.

Copper utensils regained by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 420 as against Rs 418.

Copper cable scrap, copper armature, copper billets and copper sheet cuttings inched up per kg each to Rs 455, Rs 444, Rs 483 and Rs 440, respectively.

However, zinc edged down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 232 from Rs 234 previously.

Brass utensils scrap and brass sheet cuttings inched down per kg each to Rs 339 and Rs 354, respectively. PTI BPD SBT SBT
