Audi India has launched the all-new Q5, which is available in two trims- Premium Plus for Rs 53.25 lakh and Technology for Rs. 57.60 lakh. Positioned between the Q3 and Q7 SUVs, it is priced much higher than the products it is pitted against by rivals like BMW X3 (Rs 49.10-54.00 lakh), Mercedes-Benz GLC (Rs. 48.11-52.13 lakh) and Volvo XC60 (Rs. 55.90 lakh). Just like the previous version, the new Q5 is also assembled at Skoda’s facility in Aurangabad.

The 2018 Audi Q5 initially will be offered only in 2.0L TDI diesel engine with the petrol TFSI variant lined up sometime later this year. As compared to the outgoing model that was priced between Rs. 49.44-55.92 lakh, the company has jacked up the prices by Rs 3.81 lakh for the base model and by Rs 1.68 lakh for the high-end variant.

Meantime, Audi India reported a muted 2 per cent volume growth selling 7,876 units in 2017 despite the company rolling out 10 new models, including the Q3, A5 Cabriolet and the S5 among others. Its numbers have been trailing its compatriots Mercedes Benz and BMW, which sold 15,330 units and 9,800 units respectively in the country last year.
