Even as marketing and sales jobs are seeing a growth for suitably skilled professionals, there continues to be a talent mismatch in Hyderabad, making it difficult for employers to hire people, according to a   survey report by Indeed India.

Over 38 percent of marketing and sales job openings in Hyderabad remain unfilled after 60 days, according to a survey by job portal Indeed India.

The report adds that while there is no shortage of active job seekers, there appears to be a mismatch of talent with employers finding it difficult to hire people with the right skills to fill these roles. With the advent of digital marketing and the integrated sales approach, the sector is seeing a rise in demand for suitably skilled professionals in these areas.

Though the job site witnesses a high number of active job seekers for postings in the segment, it finds that these potential applicants do not possess relevant qualifications to fulfill the responsibilities the role entails, and hence positions remain unfilled for extended periods, explained the report.

Sashi Kumar, Managing Director, Indeed India was quoted, "Sectors that are facing a particularly large talent crunch include marketing and sales, management and administration, software and human resources. He however believes these sectors, he said, have over 30 percent of jobs that are hard to fill.

He added, "While employers are facing a challenge in finding candidates with the all the right skills to match a given job profile, their task is often made more difficult by applicants that are ill-equipped for."

The survey meanwhile said, the positive aspect of such mismatch situation is for those job seekers meeting the demand of the required skills in those sectors and take their pick from among the vacancies available.
