Being an engaging narrative story, the young superstar Alia Bhatt’s unmatched acting is another reason that is taking the audience to the theatres.

Raazi is based on the novel Calling Sehmat written by Harinder Sikka. India and Pakistan were having tough times in terms of their bilateral relationships. Alia Bhatt who played the role of Sehmat was a Kashmiri spy who was tactfully sent to Pakistan in order to provide information for aversion of situations of war. Besides the cast, cinematography and the direction, both critics as well as fans have appreciated alia for her exemplary acting in this role.

Set in the India of 1971 and over the backdrop of the period leading of India Pakistan war in the same year, the film covered all sensibilities of that era. In the light of this, Filmmaker Meghna Gulzar said, “Sensibilities are very different from what we know today. Even the patriotism as it is in the film is very different from what we know of patriotism today. And that is where the magic of cinema comes in where we all come together and create that world, pull you into it and convince you that now you are in this world too. All the departments of the film pull together to make that world a reality and that is exactly what shows in the film.”
