Sipping Thoughts, a platform focusing on women, in association with Humans for Humanity, an NGO, will be hosting ‘The Conversation Fest’ on September 29, 2019, at The Ritz by Ferns N Petals, Gurgaon.
The theme of the event is ‘Wild Wild Conversations’, in which the enigmatic Karan Johar will interview the mastermind, Ma Anand Sheela, as we delve into the other side of the story. Ma Anand Sheela (also known as Sheela Birnstiel) will be in India from Sept 26 - Oct 25, 2019. This is a highly anticipated visit as Ma Anand Sheela is coming to India after 34 years. Sheela was the personal secretary of Bhagwan Rajneesh from 1980 to 1985. She is credited with the creation of the Rajneesh Commune and the City and Rajneeshpuram.
Sheela has recently regained her spot in the limelight because of the Netflix series called “Wild Wild Country” which has won many prestigious awards. Now, almost three decades later, Sheela, still in love with Bhagwan and his teachings, finally will tell her side of the story, claiming that the truth was very different. And there is no better person to bring the story to life than the master storyteller, Karan Johar.
Speaking about the event, Meeta Gutgutia, Co-Founder, Sipping Thoughts and Ferns N Petals, said, “It’s a great pleasure to bring out untold stories from different walks of life. I believe every story is worth being told and heard. Through Conversation Fest, we are bringing two right people together on the stage to have a meaningful conversation.”
Sukirti Gupta, Co-Founder, Sipping Thoughts, added, "We believe everything begins with a conversation. Two monologues do not create a dialogue-dialogue means the ability to discuss, to listen and to accept that every opinion has the right to exist, regardless of whether we agree with it. Hence, we gave it a thought to organize a fest where we promote strong conversations.”
