MDI To Host Annual Marketing Conclave MarQConnect

The conclave this year is set to host speakers with expertise in the field of marketing from big brands who will be enlightening young to-be-marketeers.

The conclave to be organized on 25th January 2020, Saturday, has the college already full of excitement. With eminent speakers, infinite ideas and lots of excitement this year, the conclave just got bigger and better.

MDI Gurgaon is a front runner B-school in India. Being established in 1973, it is one of the oldest, and most prestigious institutes and the first B-school in the country to be awarded the globally reputed AMBA accreditation among various other accreditations. The institute thrives on to develop and create thought leaders and changes masters in some of the best minds of the nation to foster academic excellence and continuous innovation to create cutting edge management capability at both individual and national level. 

The institute provides an array of opportunities to its students and faculty to learn and interact with various industry professionals during the course offerings, to ensure that knowledge, experience and understanding go hand in hand. MarQConnect is one of the largest B-School conclaves on marketing in India and is a legacy of MarQuity, the marketing club of MDI Gurgaon which provides a platform to bring eminent leaders from industries, marketers, entrepreneurs, academia and future leaders at the same platform to discuss diverse aspects of marketing and branding, along with celebrating success stories. 

The conclave this year is set to host speakers with expertise in the field of marketing from big brands who will be enlightening young to-be-marketeers. The list of eminent speakers for MarQConnect 2020 includes:

Shashank Shah - Best Selling Author, Fellow and Visiting Scholar, Harvard Business School
A Harvard University graduate, Dr. Shashank Shah is a best-selling author who has published 3 books with bestsellers being ‘Win-Win Corporations’ and ‘The Tata Group: From Torchbearers to Trailblazers’ published by Penguin Random House in  2016 and 2018, and more than 100 papers, case studies, articles, monographs etc. in areas of Integral Education, Humanized Healthcare, Ethics and Leadership etc. He is also a TEDx and [email protected] speaker and teaches graduate courses in the areas of Marketing and Total Quality Management at Harvard Business School.

Virginia Sharma - Director - Marketing Solutions, LinkedIn
After a successful 17- year global marketing career, Virginia Sharma is now leading LinkedIn Marketing Solutions in India. A few feathers in her cap include Asia's Most Influential CMO 2015, Economic Times Women Ahead in 2018 and the Impact Top50 Women in Marketing Media and Advertising in both 2018 and 2019, and LinkedIn Power Profile 2018. She is the first Indian leader to become a Marketing Academy Fellow delivered by McKinsey and Co and the first chairperson for the Marketing Society India Chapter. She is also currently pursuing a doctoral degree.

Sangeeta Talwar - Creator of Brand - Maggi, Managing Director, Flyvision
The creator of the iconic brand, Maggi 2-minute noodles, Sangeeta Talwar has had a career spanning 34+ years, held several CXO level positions and won "Top 25 Business Women of the Year" award for 3 consecutive years. She has also helped build some of the most iconic brands the country has ever seen including Tata Tea and Barbie. She is also acknowledged as the first woman executive in an FMCG brand who paved the way for others to step up.

Samar Singh Sheikhawat - Independent Business Consultant, Ex-CMO, United Breweries
With extensive experience in Sales and Marketing across multiple industries, Samar Singh Sheikhawat has worked on several projects across USA, UK, The Netherlands, Middle East, S.E. Asia and Nepal. An Economics graduate with an MBA degree in Marketing, Mr. Sheikhawat has worked in organizations like Dabur, PepsiCo, Spencer's Retail Limited and United Breweries and has been on the board of the Kingfisher East Bengal Football Club.

As someone who been a sportsman all his life and have worked with legendary players and with teams like Royal Challengers Bangalore, Force India F1 (to name a few), as well as with companies and brands that have had deep associations with sport, Mr. Sheikhawat's approach to life and leadership has been largely shaped by sports, having himself played basketball for India Under-19.

Rajnish Datta -Director, International Management Services Pvt. Ltd., Ex- Senior President, Yes Bank
A seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in the banking sector, Mr. Rajnish Datta has worked in various functions like acquisitions and retail.

The fruitful interactions pave way for new ideas and new ways of thinking for the current students who look up to these marketing experts.
