Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw Meets Karnataka CM To Discuss various Development Issues Of Banglore

Days after his Cabinet expansion, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Somappa Bommai held a meeting with Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Executive Chairperson and founder of Biocon Limited and Biocon Biologics Limited, on Sunday. 

The meeting was also attended by Kris Gopalakrishnan, Co-founder, Infosys, Nikhil Kamath, Founder, Zerodha, True Beacon, V. Mohandas Pai, Chairman of Manipal Global Education (Manipal University), and Anil Shetty entrepreneur. 



The main motive of the meet was to discuss the various economic and infrastructure issues along with industry and the development of Bangalore.

Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw took to her official Twitter handle and wrote, "Had a very engaging mtg with CM of Karnataka BS Bommai to discuss various economic and infrastructure issues. We are confident that he will drive visible change and assured him of our support." 

Basavaraj Somappa Bommai also took to his Twitter handle and shared the details of the meet. He wrote (roughly translated to English), "Attended a lunch meeting with Biocon Chairperson Kiran Mujumdar Shaw at The Oberoi Hotel, Bangalore. During the meeting, the development of Bangalore was discussed. Wipro President Azim Premji, Mohan Das Pai, Chris Gopalakrishnan, and others were present at the meeting." 



He thanked Shaw and other attendees further tweeted, "Thank you, Kiran Shaw. It was a constructive lunch meeting with all of you. Had a good discussion on industry and Bengaluru development." 



Meanwhile, a total of 29 Ministers were included in Karnataka's new cabinet led by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, on Wednesday. Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new cabinet ministers at the Raj Bhavan in Bengaluru. There are 8 Linagayats, 7 Vokkaligas, 7 OBCs, 3 Dalits, 1 Scheduled Caste, 1 Reddy in the cabinet and one berth is given to women.
