2019 witnessed the analytics industry growing to $3.03 billion worldwide, a figure projected to double by 2025. With Data Science transitioning rapidly from a buzzword to a widely-adopted technique across industry verticals, a strong foundation in the subject is essential for candidates seeking to become future-ready. In fact, India is one of the top 15 nations in terms of data analytics today and furthermore this decade is set to witness massive growth in the field. 2020, has been predicted to be the year of Data Science. As a result, experts opine that India will experience a huge gap in demand and supply of data experts in the years to come.
Adds Arihant Garg, Partner, KPMG in India,” Every organization needs to analyze data to understand sales performance, customer behavior, marketing focus, operational efficiency and so on. Be it banks, financial services, manufacturing units, e-commerce or healthcare; everyone is looking for useful insights from the data they have gathered over the years. All such organizations are either building data science teams or onboarding data science consultants to solve their business problems or exploit new opportunities. Data is becoming more powerful every day and so are Data Scientist and Data Analyst roles."
Nikhil Barshikar, Founder of Imarticus Learning, is enthusiastic about the new collaboration. "I think one of the biggest shortcomings faced by job aspirants today is the need for real cases and support from the industry to get the first-hand experience. Through this partnership with KPMG in India, we aim to create skilled Data Science professionals by providing just that. They don’t just learn the concepts of Data Science algorithms but also apply different Data Science solutions to real business problems from diverse industries.”
