Industrialists Ambani, Agarwal, Munjal Supports Coronavirus Fight

The current count of nearly 22 per cent population is below the poverty line. With these donations made by the industrialists is an addition to the Rs 1.7 lakh crore relief package announced by the government on March 26th.

Reliance Industries decides to double the salaries of their employees earning less than Rs 30,000, said Mukesh Ambani, CMD of the company. Apart from helping their employees, companies like Vedanta Resources, Hero Cycles and Microsoft are donating to fight against coronavirus.

The current count of nearly 22 per cent population is below the poverty line. With these donations made by the industrialists is an addition to the Rs 1.7 lakh crore relief package announced by the government on March 26th.

Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Relief Fund receives the support of Rs 5 crore from Reliance Industries along with a setup of the 100-bed centre at Seven Hills Hospitals and an isolation facility for COVID-19 patients. Whereas Vedanta Resources Chairman Anil Agarwal and Hero Cycles MD Pankaj Munjal commits Rs 100 crore each to fight against the pandemic. Telangana Chief Minister’s Welfare Fund is helping the poor people with a donation of Rs 2 crore offered by Anupama Nadella, wife of Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. 

As per the news reports, India has registered the maximum number of deaths on March 26th. As of March 27th, over 730 people have been tested positive with the disease. Out of which, 66 has been recovered while 17 deaths have been reported.
