Indian Fashion Choreographer Lokesh Sharma Takes Indian Designs and Cultural Pride to 'Shop Qatar' Festival

MUMBAI, January 18, 2018/PRNewswire/ -- Shop Qatar is a month-long fiesta happening in Dubai organised by Qatar Tourism. Lokesh Sharma, Indian Fashion Show Director and Fashion Choreographer is the only one directing three shows in this month-long celebration which includes three categories of shows featuring an Arabian Fashion Show, a Bollywood Fashion Show with Indian designers and one show with international designers.

Along with show direction, Lokesh is the Indian representative for promoting Indian Culture at Shop Qatar Festival, where he is promoting Indian handicrafts, hand embroidery, hand block printing, handmade lakh bangles and jewellery and leather shoes via installations and activations. Lokesh Sharma is a Fashion Show Choreographer, and Show Director who has been directing and choreographing shows like Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Doha, India Fashion Week Dubai, India Intimate Fashion Week, Asian Designer Week India, India Fashion Week London and many more. He has also done solo shows with India, Qatar, Dubai, Pakistan and London-based designers along with choreographing Indian National Pageants.

Talking about choreographing and being the Show Director and Indian representative, he said; "I feel privileged to be here and be able to represent Indian culture and designs because India has a huge diversity in the field of design and it is important to give this artist a platform on the international front."

The Bollywood fashion show which is starting today will see a collection from ace designers such as Vikram Phadnis, Archana Kochhar and Mandira Wirk. The second week includes activities ranging from fashion shows, to music concerts and cultural shows highlighting designs and specialities from India and other South Asian countries.

The show is organized by Rahat Mansoor Ali, with designers and talents from more than 15 countries displaying their art.
