India’s Total COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage Surpasses 83 Cr Mark: Govt

Meanwhile, a total of 31,923 fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported in the last 24 hours, according to the ministry.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, on Thursday, said that Indian cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed the 83 crore mark, amid the ongoing pandemic. 

"With the administration of 71,38,205 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage crossed the landmark of 83 crore (83,39,90,049) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.  This has been achieved through 81,69,260 sessions," the Ministry said in an official statement. 

A total of 31,990 patients recovered in the last 24 hours which have taken the tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,28,15,731. Also, India’s recovery rate stands at 97.77 per cent and is presently at its highest peak since March 2020.

Meanwhile, a total of 31,923 fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported in the last 24 hours, according to the ministry. 

"The active caseload is presently 3,01,640. Active cases presently constitute 0.90 per cent of the country's total Positive Cases. This is the lowest figure in the active cases in India since March 2020," it said. 

The last 24 hours saw a total of 15,27,443 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 55.83 Cr (55,83,67,013) cumulative tests.

Talking about the Weekly Positivity Rate, it stands at 2.11 per cent and remains less than 3 per cent for the last 90 days now. The Daily Positivity rate at 2.09 per cent which further remains below 3 per cent for the last 24 days and below 5 per cent for 107 consecutive days now.
