As time passes, the one country in the Southeast Asian part of the world has touched new heights and has achieved a new recognition in the world. A government that not only brought changes to the budget fiscals but also it's tax reforms has played an important role in setting newer and better heights for the country to achieve. Surging India is now a concept that has glued the world's eyes to this nation.

"It is with great conviction that we will put the nation first and it's pride before every single divide suppressing all the cynics to claim our rightful place in the global order. With this sentiment rests the spirit of this conclave, 'Surging India'. On the 18th of December, we look forward to hearing the Prime Minister's vision for the future of the country. I'd also like to say that in a few weeks from now, we (Republic TV) will take the next big step of expanding full-scale television cum media network launch of the Hindi news channel Republic Bharat. Our guidelines stressing on nation first and no compromise will help us on the next phase of this beautiful and transformational journey," said Arnab Goswami, Editor-in-chief, Republic TV during his opening address of RP - Sanjiv Goenka Group presents Republic TV Summit Surging India 2018.

Post his address Arnab invited the Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi to provide a broader perspective on the country's sudden growth and Economic Gain. In his address, Prime Minister Modi discussed about the country's development that has taken place since the last 4 and a half years under his government and the road ahead for the year 2019.

"To understand the country's condition and directions, summits like these are creating new ideas and solutions. Which is also encouraging the citizens of our country. 'Surging India' these 2 words are playing an important role in evolving ideologies of 130 crore Indians. These emotions and vibrations today can be felt and witnessed in every part of the world. India, on a transformational pedestal, is growing at a much faster pace and the face of the nation is getting stronger. We, as a nation, are recognized in the 5 Trillion Dollar Economy club. Every Indian family is now connected with the country's banking system and we have seen 7 crore Indians become a part of our tax regime as of today. The reason we have seen many such developments in such a short span is that governors are policy driven under a transparent procedure and believe in this powerful movement of our nation. The GST system has been established to the limits and today we have reached a condition where 99% of goods and services can be brought under 18%. The technologies and systems that were available 4 years ago are still embedded in most work models but the speed and scale of work production have increased. Currently, we are very close to providing recognition to every Indian along with 24*7 electricity and clean water & sanitation. Child education, youth employment, healthcare for senior citizens, facilities for farmers and the voices of every Indian citizen is where we have, are and will devote all our attention towards for a brighter future", said Shri Narendra Modi, Hon'ble Prime Minister of India.

Following his speech, the summit progressed towards a discussion on the consensus of the leading political parties in India. A common agreement is imperative, especially when the two parties Congress and the BJP have had opposite mindsets on the policies and decisions that have set out different roadmaps for the country. The panel included reputed names belonging to the Indian democracy Piyush Vedprakash Goyal, Minister of Railways and Coal, Government of India, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Chairman, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference, and Praful Patel, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) for the state of Maharashtra.

Piyush Goyal during the discussion opined on the possibility of consensus, "The highest amount of consensus that can happen in a political environment is in our country today. India has come together and we all are a witness to it especially post-economic reforms. The thrust continues and will get better in 2019. A common tax (GST) has been talked about in 30 meetings conducted by GST Councils from 30 states together. We have witnessed a federal combination of states as well happening in the country. Political consensus is possible and as a nation in the hour of need, India stands together."

Topics relevant to the nascent evolution of the country were discussed upon. Understanding the strength and potential of the Indian army and technologies shared between the Israel army, General, Indian Army, Bikram Singh along with Brig. General, Israel Army, Nitzan Nuriel elaborated the ideologies of the 2 recognized and powerful defense forces in the world. During their discussion, they also stressed upon strategies based on Isolation & Elimination of terror threats and countermeasures against enemies.

The first day of the summit came to an end as the last speaker Shri. Arun Jaitley, Finance Minister, Government of India in conversation with Arnab Goswami and Sanjiv Goenka, Chairman, RP - Sanjiv Goenka Group provided a detailed study about the government's investments. The country needed new Economic and tax reforms that have today resulted in the successful execution of the common tax and growth of nearly 8% in a span of 4 years according to Jaitley.

"If you compare the situation where we stood on 20th May, 2014, the words used to describe India's economy were way different and fiscal deficits stood at 6% and current account deficits were valued at 4 1/2%. The challenge at that time was to make this country a recognized economy. We needed a high growth model at that time, especially when there lacked a global boom. The majority spends post the budget fiscal were concentrated to develop the rural areas. We are the only government in the history who with increasing taxes has also reduced taxes for the majority of goods and services in the country. Because of the fiscal discipline, we have had in the last 5 years out of 700,000 villages 97% of them are linked with good roads and 24 hours of electricity. We are building 50,000 houses every year and have provided atleast 50 crore underprivileged citizens with free medical treatment. With the inclusion of demonetization and GST, it has resulted in a growth of 8% right from the 3rd quarter of it's implementation," said Arun Jaitley, Finance Minister, Government of India.
