IITs Officers’ Federation Meeting Held

The members of the Federation discussed about the proposals of uniform cadre and promotion policy for Group A officers and stressed the need for rationalisation of Recruitment Rules on the lines of NITs and IIITs. A subcommittee of the Federation will further explore the same.

The 14th All IITs Officers’ Federation (AIITOF) meeting was held at IIT Delhi. The meeting was inaugurated by Prof Bodh Raj Mehta, Acting Director, IIT Delhi


The members of the Federation discussed about the proposals of uniform cadre and promotion policy for Group A officers and stressed the need for rationalisation of Recruitment Rules on the lines of NITs and IIITs. A subcommittee of the Federation will further explore the same.


Presently, all IITs are following different set of Recruitment Rules and Promotion Policies. The Officers’ Federation also deliberated on health schemes, accommodation allocation policy, training and professional upgradation. 

Prof Mehta, Acting Director, IIT Delhi suggested to make a road-map of 100 days as is being formulated and recommended by the Govt. of India. 

On this occasion, Dr. Sandeep Chatterjee, Registrar, IIT Delhi was also present.


The meeting concluded with election of the body. Dr Kalyan Bhattacharjee, Jt. Registrar, IIT Delhi has been elected as the President; DK Salwalkar, Dy Registrar, IIT Bombay as General Secretary and Sh. R.K. Gupta, Asst. Registrar, IIT Delhi as Treasurer of the All IITs Officers’ Federation. 

Speaking on this occasion, the AIITOF President, Dr. Kalyan Bhattacharjee, said that the ‘Group A’ officers of the IITs across the country will continue to work hand in hand for the betterment of the IIT system.


He also thanked all the members of the Federation for their presence and participation in the meeting.  

The next meeting of the Federation will take place at IIT Kharagpur.
