IBM Delivers New Big Data Capabilities On Cloud Marketplace

IBM  has announced that it is transforming how organisations engage with business content and make it more usable and interactive across the enterprise to deliver better results and improve decision making. Through a new Big Data service available on the IBM Cloud marketplace, organizations can now easily secure, access and manage content from anywhere and on any device. 

It’s estimated that 2.5 billion gigabytes of data are created every day, and 80 per cent of that data is comprised of unstructured content such as contracts, claims forms, and permit applications. The explosion of the volume of content, and more importantly, new forms of it including Tweets and posts to social media, has increased the need to use any type of information from nearly any source.

Using this new service will allow knowledge workers to do their jobs more effectively and collaboratively by synchronizing and making the content they need available on any browser, desktop and mobile device they use everyday, and to apply it in the context of key business processes. IBM Navigator on Cloud, now available on the IBM Cloud marketplace and built on Softlayer’s Cloud platform, will help all users within and outside of the business gain value from this ever increasing deluge of content.

Zomato Acquires Menumania, New Zealand's Popular Restaurant Discovery Service
Zomato, the restaurant search and discovery service, has acquired, a popular New Zealand-based restaurant discovery service for an undisclosed amount.

"We are thrilled to welcome Menumania to Zomato.” said Deepinder Goyal, Founder and CEO, Zomato. "The Menumania team is very passionate about restaurants and helping people discover new places to eat. We look forward to working closely with them to leverage their local expertise. Together, Zomato and Menumania will be the largest resource of restaurant information in New Zealand, and I am sure both our users will love the integrated product once it rolls out over the next few weeks."

The founding team of Menumania will be working closely with the Zomato team following this acquisition.

Zomato has been aggressively expanding its global presence with launches in Europe and Southeast Asia in the past six months, while also working to strengthen its presence in existing markets. This acquisition is a strategic move to establish Zomato’s presence in the Pacific.

This is Zomato's first acquisition globally. Deepinder Goyal, Founder and CEO added "This acquisition is the first of more to come, in our mission to be the dominant player in this space across the globe."

TAL Produces Its 1st ACFB For Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner
TAL Manufacturing Solutions, a Tata enterprise, celebrated delivery of its first advanced composite floor beam (ACFB) for the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to Boeing. The ACFB was produced in collaboration with Boeing by TAL at its dedicated world-class facility in MIHAN SEZ in Nagpur.

“We are proud of achieving this milestone,” said Mr Rajesh Khatri, Executive Director & CEO, TAL. “This would not have been possible without the support of the Boeing Team. We will accelerate production to meet Boeing requirements and are committed to create a center of excellence for aerospace in India backed by world-class facilities, proficient people and global best practices.”

In less than five years, TAL has transformed a green field site at MIHAN, SEZ into an aerospace manufacturing facility, building sophisticated aero structures. It has also created employment opportunities for more than 200 persons – with a potential for many more. Now, TAL is positioned to methodically ramp up production for 787-9 floor beams that are shipped to Boeing partners in Italy, Japan and the United States.

With a state-of-the-art facility and capability of manufacturing precision, high quality and cost effective aerospace components, TAL is set to foray its presence in the global aerospace domain.

ACME To Insall 1st Li-Ion Based Energy Storage Solution

Tata Comm Announces 1st Challenge For Connectivity Innovation Prize
Tata Communications, a leading provider of A New World of Communications, today announced the details of the first of three challenges for the F1® Connectivity Innovation Prize. The $50,000 F1 Connectivity Innovation Prize is a Tata Communications’ initiative that was launched on June 10th, 2014.
